New Floor Target
As you may be aware the key attainment Floor Standard at KS2 has been changed to 60% of pupils gaining L4+ in Reading and Writing and Maths. This is expected to trip more schools into “falling below the floor targets”.
Other things to remember:
- There is no English combined level being calculated for pupils this year.
- The new Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling test is not being included in the school level APS and other measures this year. This will change in 2014.
- Level 6 is being treated as a 6B for APS purposes and is being counted as 39 NC points.
- The DFE progress floor standard is based on the proportion of pupils making 2 NC levels of progress. This is measured using whole NC levels therefore progress from L2A to L4C will count (L2 to L4) as achieving expected progress even though it is only 8 points progress. However a L2C to a L3A will not count even though it is 10 points progress.
