RAISEonline have released the KS1 Year 1 Phonics screening check reports for 2012.
The following reports have been made available:
- Year 1 Phonics Screening by Pupil Type (Y1.PPC) – shows the number and percentage of pupils in each group achieving the threshold alongside the national percentage for the same pupil group. Clicking on a pupil group will take users to the Year 1 Phonics Pupil List for that group of pupils.
- Year 1 Phonics Screening Pupil List ( Y1.PPL) – displays a list of all pupils together with their contextual and phonics attainment data.
- Year 1 Phonics Screening Total Marks Breakdown (Y1.PFTM) – provides the distribution of total marks achieved by pupils in the school. From the options menu, users can display the cumulative distribution of marks.
As most in school will know the Phonics check is a relatively short (5 to 10 mins), simple screening check to make sure that all pupils have grasped fundamental phonic skills. It comprises a list of 40 words and non-words, which a child will read one-to-one with a teacher. Half the words cover phonic skills which tend to be covered in Reception, and half the words are based on Year 1 phonic skills.
